Most Common Mindfulness Meditation Block #3

This is a fun one to debunk! The very fact that you feel that you don’t have 20 min to stop and practice, means your life is way out of balance. And more- you are actually not working as efficiently as you could.

Here’s a story- a monk was once asked by a tired, frazzled guy- “how long do I need to do this meditation stuff?
The monk said ” try 10 minutes.”
The guy replied, “ten minutes I don’t have that time!” The monk replied, “in that case you need to practice for 30 min.”

A strange thing that I can PROMISE, is that once you start practicing mindfulness meditation- you will find you feel like you have MORE TIME in your day.

The feeling of “not having time,” is in great part an indicator of stress.

As you develop in your practice, your day will flow more smoothly, decisions become easier and on and on. I’ve seen it in myself and it’s one of the common reports from practitioners. If there were a drug that could do this it would be hailed and sold for incredible price per dose.
